Meet the Founder
Leadership Rooted in Real Experience
Verelia Properties was founded to solve a problem too many condo owners and multifamily residents know all too well: poor management, lack of transparency, and unresponsive service.
Founded by Stephen Twohig, Verelia Properties specializes in the management of condominium associations and multifamily properties, delivering structured operations, clear financial oversight, and proactive communication. The company was built not from theory—but from firsthand experience on both the professional and ownership side of real estate.
Stephen’s Background
Stephen Twohig is a New Jersey–based real estate professional with a background that uniquely blends operations, security, finance, and property management.
He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey developing an early foundation in risk management, organizational systems, and operational accountability.
In 2019, Stephen began working at Tishman Speyer Properties, where he oversaw operations within their Global Security Operations Center. In this role, he managed and coordinated security and operational responses for some of the most complex environments in the world, including:
The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting
Large-scale public events
Global security system installations
Natural disasters
Civil unrest and emergency response situations
This experience sharpened his ability to manage high-stakes environments, complex stakeholders, and mission-critical systems—skills that translate directly into effective property management.
In 2023, Stephen returned to school to further strengthen his financial and leadership expertise, earning his MBA with a concentration in Finance from Ohio University.
Transition into Property Management
In 2024, Stephen transitioned into property management at Tishman Speyer, where he began managing one of the firm’s most iconic and valuable assets: Rockefeller Center—home to global tenants including NBC, Equinox, LEGO, Baker Hostetler, Limani, Rockefeller Capital Management, One Rock Capital Partners, and many others.
Managing a property of this scale reinforced the importance of disciplined financial controls, responsive operations, and long-term asset stewardship.
The Moment That Changed Everything
In 2025, Stephen purchased his first condominium in Jersey City, part of a newly converted development. The building already had a third-party management company in place—but the experience quickly revealed serious problems:
Refusal to provide financial documentation
Poor communication and delayed responses
Lack of urgency around critical building issues
As both a professional property manager and a condo owner, Stephen recognized the disconnect between how properties should be managed and the reality many associations face.
Determined to fix what was broken, he stepped in to lead.
Stephen took over day-to-day management of his building, was elected HOA Treasurer and Secretary, and implemented transparent financial reporting, structured operations, and responsive communication. The results were immediate—and eye-opening.
It became clear this was not an isolated issue.
The Birth of Verelia Properties
Stephen realized that countless condo boards and multifamily owners were experiencing the same frustration—and deserved better.
Verelia Properties was created with one clear purpose:
to fix what’s broken in property management so no one else has to go through the frustration of a terrible management company.
Today, Verelia Properties brings institutional-grade standards, financial discipline, and hands-on leadership to condo associations and multifamily properties—without the bureaucracy or indifference that plagues much of the industry.
A Founder-Led Philosophy
Verelia Properties operates on the belief that:
Transparency is non-negotiable
Financial clarity protects everyone
Responsiveness builds trust
Properties perform best when leadership is accountable
Stephen remains actively involved in the company, ensuring every property reflects the values Verelia was built on.
